“At a press conference yesterday in Washington, D.C., the Family Research Council, Concerned Women for America, Focus on the Family and representatives from over 20 other ultra-conservative, anti-gay organizations announced that President Bush has officially declared Oct. 12-18 as “Marriage Protection Week”. One of the coalition’s goals is to build support for a Constitutional amendment to permanently deny civil marriage to same-sex couples. r
